With a lifelong commitment to travel and adventure, Steven Shoppman has spent more than a 3rd of his life if search of unique people and phenomenal locations around the globe. He’s traveled to over 80 countries, traversed the farthest reaches of the planet and is a renowned expert when it comes to organizing and executing the wildest expeditions and adventures imaginable.
In 2007, he orchestrated The World by Road Expedition, leaving Denver, CO with a crew of 6 to drive two Toyota trucks around the world. After 2.5 years the expedition successfully circumnavigated the globe both east to west and north to south, taking Steven and the rotating crew to the farthest north and south points of all seven continents. Upon his return, he was awarded Adventurer of the Year from National Geographic in 2010.
Steven has raced 1000-miles down the baja peninsula, explored the jungles of panama, climbed and biked mountains in Bolivia and Peru and continues to travel more than 4-months of each year on the search to find the most unusual and unique places on the planet. He’s even landed one of his expeditions in the Guinness Book of World Records, helping to organize the Follow that Fire Engine Expedition… the world’s longest journey in a fire engine.
Steven has worked as a canyon and climbing guide in the southwest United States, he’s spent summers in Brazil and Mexico guiding, and lived on the road for many of his early years in search of adventure throughout the United States and the world.
Whether an expedition to a hard to reach place or a immersive cultural experience, Steven stays committed to the idea that there is always more to a story than meets the eye and that drives him to explore the stories that make this world incredible.
